The Skinny
Anyone who frequents my crib will have had at one time or another, a cup of African/European tea, most people enjoy this past time with a good friendly chat among friends or family and so the goodness should be shared with all. After moving here to Southern California, I have found alot of Americans like our funny way of making tea and although its probably not the queen’s way it most certainly is a yummy way so read on to learn the art of a preparing a proper cup of tea.
What you will Need
- Some Good Tea Bags, I use PG Tips, you can buy it at World Market.
- A kettle, I use an electric kettle, it saves electricity and boils your water in under a minute.
- Sugar (No not honey, I said sugar)
- Milk (No, not Soy milk, that’ll defeat the entire point)
Lets Begin
1. Prepare your favorite cup with a single bag of PG Tips.
2. Boil some water and make sure you pour it into your cup once it has completely boiled, leaving room for your milk. Allow the tea to draw for at least one minute, if you like it stronger, let it draw longer.
3. Take the tea bag out with your spoon and pour in a little milk.
4. Add 1.5 – 2 teaspoons of sugar, this ratio is for a mug cup shown above.
5. Stir your wonderful cup of tea as desired and sip with delight!
Of course you may use soy milk and honey in your tea, its just not the way I make it, some other great Teas are, Five Roses, Tetley, Rooibos and Earl Grey.
Look out for my post on how to make a proper cup of coffee!
